With a history spanning more than two decades, Defrog Gallery returns with a focused voice. It represents artists whose work is held in museum collections and who have matured independently, while maintaining long-standing relationships with the gallery. Now operating by appointment and online, Defrog continues to support work that is relevant and enduring.

Our office is open by appointment. From this base, Defrog continues to expand its online presence while actively developing new opportunities for the artists and estates we represent, including participation in art fairs, pop-up exhibitions, and collaborations with partner galleries.

The artists in our roster are not incidental. They are artists whose work is held in museum collections and whose practices have evolved and matured on their own terms. Our role has been to recognize that strength and to sustain meaningful, long-standing relationships with them over time. This continuity reflects a commitment to dialogue, trust, and the careful stewardship of artistic legacies.

Since its founding in 1999, the gallery’s mission has evolved alongside a rapidly shifting art world. After nearly two decades in a physical space, culminating in its closure in 2017, Defrog reemerged as an online platform with a renewed purpose: to make both the presentation and experience of art more accessible, without compromising depth or rigor.

We believe art plays a vital role in shaping how we understand the world around us. In a time of uncertainty and fragmentation, we turn to artists who can distill complex realities into compelling visual language. Increasingly, alternative platforms like ours provide space for work that speaks with clarity and conviction, offering perspectives that challenge, reflect, and expand beyond the constraints of a homogenized art market.

DeFrog Gallery also maintains a carefully curated collection of works available on the secondary market, reflecting the depth of our long-standing relationships with artists and estates. This selection includes photography, paintings, drawings, prints, and sculpture—many by artists whose works are held in museum collections and have been part of the gallery’s history over time.
